Quiet Remedies · Throat & Breathing
A soft herbal infusion traditionally prepared for moments when the chest, throat, and breath ask for something warm, simple, and unhurried.
Mullein tea has long been used in folk traditions as a calming herbal drink, especially during colder seasons when the throat feels dry or the breath feels slightly heavy. Its charm is not dramatic. It is slow, warm, and quietly supportive.
This remedy is best treated as a comforting ritual — a cup to sip slowly, while resting the voice and allowing the body a softer rhythm.
Keep it gentle. Mullein leaves can be delicate, so straining well is important.
Bring fresh water close to boiling, then allow it to settle for a moment. The warmth should feel soft, not aggressive.
Add dried mullein leaves to a cup or teapot and pour the hot water over them. Let it steep for about 10 minutes.
Use a fine strainer, tea filter, or cloth filter before drinking. This helps remove the tiny leaf hairs from the infusion.
Hold the tea while it is still warm. Notice the steam, the earthy scent, and the small pause before the first sip. Sometimes the remedy is not only in the herb, but in the permission to stop rushing.
